Remember last summer's unprecedented Hollywood strikes? The Writers Guild of America (WGA) and SAG-AFTRA secured historic contracts marking a new era of worker solidarity and industry recognition for artist value. 

Musicians though have not been part of this industry recognition, however. In January 2024, ten days of negotiation with the Musicians of the American Federation of Musicians of the U.S. & Canada (AFM) didn't yield any agreement.
