Remember the Flint, Michigan water crisis? We're coming up on the 10th anniversary of that fateful day in 2014 when officials in Flint swtiched the drinking water source from the Detroit city system to the Flint system......all to save money. Flint's water source though was highly corrosive and this is where the problem began. Lead leached out from aging pipes and into the homes of thousands.

Flash forward to today, and has the situation been completely addressed? Sadly, no. In March 2024, a judge determined deadlines had been missed to replace aging pipes at the heart of the crisis.

As the 10th anniversary approaches on April 25, efforts still remain to help get safe, clean drinking water into everyone's home in Flint. Here are 2 options to make an impact:

💧 Sign the petition, urging the EPA to address the issue at the heart to make safe drinking water a priority: https://waterkeeper.quorum.us/campaign/help-ensure-all-americans-have-safe-drinking-water/

💧 Teen water activist, and Flint native, Mari Copeny has partnered with Hydroviv to make exceptional water filters available to people in need. A $1 donation to their campaign provides over 160 bottles worth of safe drinking water.
