50% of people who misused prescription painkillers got them from a friend or family member.

Every year, Prescription Drug Take Back Day shines a spotlight on the destruction that precription meds can have on our health (and environment) when disposed of improperly, including flushing down the toilet or throwing them in the garbage. Whether you have expired prescriptions you didn't take, or there are some just collecting dust in your medicine cabinet, find a local dropoff point convenient for you on April 27, 2024.

Last year's event collected 721,093 lbs. (360 tons) of medications from across the U.S.!

PS - If April 27 doesn't work for you, ask your local drugstore pharmacy if they accept them anytime of the year. Or, check out https://safe.pharmacy/drug-disposal/
