Behind every piece of clothing that we put on, there are people involved in creating our looks. These are people that live in a variety of countries, may or may not have safe working conditions, and they may or may not be a child. Whether your garments are designer labels or fast fashion, made of leather or polyester, it is very possible that the person cutting and sewing your garments is being exploited.

April 15-24, 2024 marks 10-days of action during Fashion Revolution Week. It's a moment to value people over profits.

While you might think the exploitation is occurring in other countries, it is happening right here in the U.S. too. While some garment workers here in the U.S. make a low-to-middle-wage income, the industry still suffers from the 2nd-highest rate of wage theft of all workers.....some making as low as $2.68/hour. The FABRIC Act was introduced in 2022 to help combat this issue, but it has yet to be enacted.
