April is Second Chance Month, which highlights the more than 640,000 individuals returning to their communities from prisons and jails every year and the importance of their successful transitions back into society.

1 in 3 people in America has some type of arrest or conviction record. Even a minor record can present a lifetime of barriers for housing, benefits, and employment. An arrest or conviction record reduces a job seekers chance of getting a callback or job offer by nearly 50%.

Ensuring that convictions and non-conviction records are no longer a life sentence to poverty has been getting increasing traction across the U.S., in large part to The Clean Slate Initiative. Did you know that tens of millions of people across the U.S. aren't able to get relief because the current process to seal records is costly? Sealing one's records can cost as much as $300 in West Virginia or $310 in South Carolina.

Join in supporting the end of expensive fees to seal records. Add your name in support 👉 https://www.thepetitionsite.com/653/802/628/clean-slate-laws-would-make-all-of-our-communities-safer/
