Whether it's during Bike Month (in May) or anytime of the year, consider donating a bike that you're no longer using. This includes ALL types of bikes - kids, adults, etc. (Even if it's not working properly, don't think that it can't be donated and refurbished!) Some organizations looking to give bikes to underserved communities often head to the landfills to find options! It's estimated at least 15 million bikes go to landfills every year, destined for slow deaths in a dump heap.*
Keep our landfills cleaner, and help a child in an underserved community enjoy the experience of a bike.
