The name Safer Room comes from a quote from US-Iranian author Dina Nayeri: “It is the obligation of any person born in a safer room to open the door when someone in danger knocks.” The cover artwork that you see here was submitted by Samuel Nsabimana, a Congolese refugee now living in Rwanda, and the music that you’ll hear in each episode was produced and recorded by Elvis Jay, a refugee from Malawi now living in the U.S.
