There is nearly 6 million tons of waste each year from passenger flights.

When waste lands at an airport, there's a limit to how much can be recycled - due to differing international regulations. In London, nearly 90% (yes, that’s 90%) can’t be recycled in the UK. The waste ends up being burned or sent to a landfill.
