Many of us likely have unwanted medicines stored in our bathroom cabinets - antibiotics from a bad cold, pain medications, etc. Putting them in the trash can lead to them getting into the wrong hands. Flushing them down the toilet is also not a good option as they are then polluting the environment.
Here’s how to safely dispose of medicines you are no longer in need of:
1. Many pharmacies or drug stores will properly dispose of medicines. Simply ask the next time you are there.
2. If you need other options, search for a dropoff location near you. https://apps2.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/pubdispsearch/spring/main?execution=e1s1
