National Transgender HIV Testing Day is observed each year on April 18. This day is an opportunity to focus on HIV testing, prevention, and treatment among transgender people. There are a variety of ways to observe this day, from raising awareness to participating yourself.
Here’s how to get involved:
1. Learn and share some facts. Here’s one: 14% of transgender women in the US have HIV.
2. Share the day to raise awareness on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using social media graphics developed by the CDC. https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/library/awareness/nthtd.html
3. Find HIV testing centers near you at https://www.hiv.gov/events/awareness-days/transgender
