We’re Thankful For Nina Dobrev’s Shark Fin Ban Activism
Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev is known for her fabulous red carpet style, her body positivity, and most recently, being an Oceana ambassador. We’re super-grateful for all three, but especially the activism part.
We love celebrities who put their money and time where their mouths are, like Ryan Reynolds and Rihanna. Nina joins pretty good company. The former Degrassi: Next Generation alum recently took over our cause partner’s Instagram to spread awareness about protecting sharks and their habitats.

Hi everybody — @nina here! I’m taking over @Oceana’s Insta to share some behind-the-scenes peeks at my recent trip down to Bimini with Oceana … and sharks! You may know me from my roles in The Vampires Diaries, but you may not know about my passion for saving sharks and our oceans. It was an amazing time swimming and coexisting with sharks. Stay tuned today as I share more sharky goodness. 📷: Pete Zuccarini / @sharkweek #FinBanNow #SaveSharks
