Between  between 1953 and 1987, more than 1 million solders and their families were stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. In 1982, it was discovered that many living at this base were exposed to over 70 chemicals in the drinking water. These chemicals can potentially cause serious health problems.

Currently, the VA only recognizes 8 of the many possible health complications this toxic water could cause.
