Take a moment this weekend to learn the quick history on how people (safely) quenched their thirst years ago.....
đź’§ The first recorded drinking water sources are documented from about 7,000 years ago when river water and water in wells were the primary resources. The 1st CLEAN (aka disinfected) drinking water system was built in 1804 by John Gibb in Scotland where he was able to clean the water for an entire city. About two decades later, sand began to be used as a purification process for drinking water.
As for the U.S.? Jersey City, NJ became the 1st city to begin the practice of disinfecting drinking water in 1908.
