It's going to be awhile. At least that's the current thought about Hollywood writers going on strike in a quest for better pay. If the first week of the ongoing writers’ strike is any indication, neither side is going to crack soon.

The last larger writers strike was in 2007-08, and this time it appears that the different guilds are more united this time around. The writers, as do many other professions, face increasing competition with artificial intelligence (AI) that could wreak havoc on their career. Writers are also wanting to 'turn back the hands of time' to pre-streaming days. They claim Netflix and other streaming companies changed the way writers are hired and the nature of their work.
