JANUARY 2, 2024: Thank YOU for continuing to advocate for better prices for prescription drugs. Another insulin manufacturer, Sanofi, has capped their insulin at a $35 out-of-pocket cost cap for those with commercial insurance. For all the details of the price cap: https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/01/politics/insulin-price-cap/index.html

----------------------------------------------

Seven million Americans require daily insulin to treat their diabetes. If you're one of them, you undoubtedly were thrilled to hear that Eli Lilly (one of the manufacturers) capped their price of insulin at $35/month. It is wonderful news!

Bear in mind though, that of those seven million Americans only 30% of them obtain insulin manufactured by Eli Lilly. That still leaves a large portion of Americans paying approximately 800% more than other countries pay. Those Americans can still pay upwards of $1,000/month for insulin. Sanofi and Novo Nordisk have yet to substantially discount their insulin for ALL.

The inventor of insulin sold his patent for $1 in the hopes of keeping the medicine affordable to all who need it. Add your name to a growing petition to support affordable insulin prices 👉 https://action.momsrising.org/sign/insulincaps/?source=blog
