DYK? Children who perform acts of kindness have a higher likelihood of social acceptance and academic achievement.

You can help the kids in your life (your own children, cousins, grandkids, nieces and nephews, etc.) learn about the importance of helping people in need. Many kids have at least one or two toys that they no longer play with, and you can encourage them to donate these toys to another child that may not have any toys.

1️⃣ Discover a directory of homeless shelters in the U.S. at the link below. Once you locate your state on the map, clicking on your state will bring up a list of counties. From there, you can find contact information for the homeless shelters in or closest to your community.

2️⃣ Call at least one homeless shelter near you and ask if they accept donations of gently used toys. If so, donate!

Make sure to have a discussion with the child/children in your life that are choosing what toys they'd like to donate. Talk about the importance of their choices to give away 1 or 2 unused
toys, and how much of a smile it will bring to another child's face.
