Due to the opioid crisis in America, the Veterans Administration no longer prescribes opioids for chronic pain. Bob Gardener is one of many veterans that were given opioids to treat chronic pain for decades without becoming addicted. Still, the VA has suddenly stopped prescribing the medication without an adequate replacement.
