Pride month is about more than just history lessons and celebrations. It's also about harnessing the power of people to make an impact and change the world for the better, not just for the LGBTQ community, but for everyone.

There are lots of ways that each individual person out there can help out and make a difference, from volunteering, to advocacy, to something as simple as signing a petition.

Right now, there is a bill before the US Senate: the Equality Act. This bill would protect LGBTQ folks, and anyone, from being discriminated against on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity. The Equality Act passed the House over a year ago, but it has yet to go anywhere in the Senate.

There are also more direct ways to help, such as volunteering your time and energy, even virtually.

- Tap "Complete" below, and share to inspire others to make an impact, too.
