I reuse the water in my coffee pot that wasn't drank by filtering it through some large coffee filters (say 5) and through a water pitcher that I have that works like this : whenever water is poured through the top of the pitcher (the lid) there is a built in mechanism that helps filter the water that goes through it using a salt-like filtration system and when ever the water comes out after it slowly filters through the system the water drips back into the pitcher underneath clean of debree and free of color and is once again crystal clean water I then pour it back into my coffee pot. sometimes I only make 2 cups of coffee a day and I save the remaining water left over that I didn't use in a 5 gallon jug which is sealed and is designed made with a anti bacterial plastic material that doesn't allow the water inside of it once it's completely sealed and the remaining air is sucked out through the top of the containers lid with a mini shop vacuum that I used for only this and other small clean ups the amount of water really adds up and yes I have to purchase the special pitcher built in with the purified in it and yes I have to purchase the special 5 gallow jug..but it's one time only purchase and I save alot of water which also saves me alot of money as well.
